Le «Houla Oups» est un bar dans le 11ème arrondissement à Paris. Je le connais depuis environ deux ans et je trouve que c´est un bar de quartier assez atypique.
Contrairement aux bars des alentours, le «Houla Oups» n´est pas du tout touristique, ni chique ou cher. Des clients, des artistes et dessinateurs bd ont dessiné aux murs et fenêtres. Ils les ont laissés pleins des traces de vie. Traces de la vie de la nuit.
Il y a souvent des soirées, concerts ou expos au « Houla Oups ».
L´exposition dans la galerie de Stauffenbergallee 11 à Dresde en octobre, sera une installation vivante montrant une version de ce bar. Le projet s´occupe de la question de voir si c´est possible de faire voyager un lieux vivant comme ce bar et de l´amener dans une autre ville , un autre pays pour collectionner de nouvelles traces.
J’essaye d’explorer si l’on peut recréer l’ambiance, l’atmosphère du vrai Houla Oups grâce à des images fragmentaires projetées et de l’imagination. Ce projet test surtout comment il peut y avoir un échange artistique direct entre Dresde et Paris. Si cet échange peut parcourir la si grande distance qu’il y a entre ces deux villes.
La version dresdenoise du Houla Oups sera une installation artistique fonctionnant comme un vrai bar. Ce sera une reconstruction photo documentaire du lieu parisien avec des pièces originales, une exposition et une expérimentation avec des artistes, des groupes de musique, des performances et des invités.
J`ai ramené des photos, des posters et quelques boissons de Paris à Dresde. En retour, nous allons essayer de ramener et de montrer l’année prochaine à Paris, les pièces créées ici, durant la période de l’exposition.

Im 11. Pariser Arrondissement befindet sich das „Houla Oups“.
Ich kenne die Bar seit zwei Jahren und habe sie während meiner Studienzeit in Paris als eine besondere und anders geartete „Bar du Quartier“ erlebt.
Im Gegensatz zu den meisten Bars dort in der Gegend ist sie weder touristisch noch schick oder teuer.
Kunden, Künstler und Comiczeichner haben sich an den Wänden und Fenstern ausgetobt und Spuren des Nachtlebens hinterlassen. Es gibt dort Partys, Konzerte und Ausstellungen und oft selbst nach der Pariser Sperrstunde um 2.00 noch Getränke.
Die Ausstellung im Oktober in der Galerie der Stauffenbergallee 11, Dresden wird eine Rauminstallation zeigen, die eine Version des „Houla Oups“ darstellt.
Das Projekt widmet sich der Frage, ob es möglich ist, die Idee eines belebten Ortes, wie diese Bar, zu transportieren und in einer anderen Stadt weitere Spuren sammeln zu lassen.
Ich erforsche, ob es möglich ist, mit Bildfragmenten und Imagination etwas ähnlich Erlebbares, wie die echte Bar zu schaffen.
Vor allem testet das Projekt aus, wieweit ein direkter künstlerischer Austausch über die Entfernung zwischen Dresden und Paris gehen kann.
Die Dresdener Version des „Houla Oups“ ist eine als Bar betriebene Rauminstallation, eine fotodokumentarische Rekonstruktion mit Originalelementen, eine Ausstellung und außerdem ein Experiment zu dem verschiedene Künstlerinnen und Künstler, Bands und DJs eingeladen sind. Während ich die Fotos, Poster und teilweise die Getränke aus Paris mitgebracht habe, werden im Oktober auch die Besitzer und Barkeeper der Bar nach Dresden kommen.
In Dresden entstandene Werke, die mit ausgestellt wurden, werden später in Paris gezeigt.
Musiker, die Interesse an einem Auftritt haben, können sich gerne auch kurzfristig noch melden.

The houla oups is a bar in the 11th arrondissement at Paris. I know this nightbar about two years and think that it is a special “bar du quartier”
In contrast to many other bars around is it neither touristic nor chic or expensive.
The walls and windows are full of drawings, posters and traces from nightlife left by customers, artists and comicpeople. There are often concerts, parties or exhibitions and sometimes still drinks even after the Paris closing time at 2am.
The October exhibition at the Dresden gallery in Stauffenbergallee 11 will show a version of the Houla Oups as a roominstallation.
The project is asking if it is possible to transport the idea of a living place like the Houla Oups to another town and country. Can this “fake-bar” made by image fragments and imagination collect new traces at Dresden and create an atmosphere comparable to the real one?
I try to find out how far a direct artistic exchange can go between the distance from Dresden to Paris.
The Dresden version of the Houla Oups is an installation with the function of a real bar. It is a photo documentary reconstruction in fragments with original elements. It is a groupexhibition and an experiment with many great invited artists, bands and d´s. We will have changing artpieces, concerts, gigs, performances and filmnights during whole October.
I took photos, posters and some drinks from Paris to Dresden and probably next year we will transport some of the artworks back to Paris.
